Sending — how your emails go out
When you email a quote or an invoice from UNENO, the email goes out through UNENO by default. If you’d rather send through your own mail server, set it up under Settings → Sending.
Default sending — through UNENO
Section titled “Default sending — through UNENO”- Sent from: your company name with (via UNENO), from UNENO’s address.
- Replies go to: your own address — the Email from your business profile, otherwise the billing email from your company details. When a customer replies, the reply lands straight with you. To change the address, use Change in the business profile.
There’s nothing to set up; default sending is always active as long as no mail server of your own is verified.
What the labels show
Section titled “What the labels show”Each card shows whether it’s in use. A green Active is always on exactly one card — the way your emails go out.
| Situation | Default sending | Your mail server (SMTP) |
|---|---|---|
| No server of your own entered | Active | Inactive |
| Server saved but not verified — or the test failed | Active | Not verified (amber) |
| Server verified | Inactive | Active |
Use your own mail server (SMTP)
Section titled “Use your own mail server (SMTP)”-
In the Your mail server (SMTP) card, enter your mail provider’s details:
Field What to enter Host * Your provider’s mail server, for example smtp.your-provider.com. Private or local addresses aren’t allowed. Port * and Encryption * Usually 587 with TLS — your provider tells you the values. Username *, Password * Your login with the provider. Later, leave the password empty to keep the saved one. From address * The address your emails come from. Your server must be allowed to send from it — otherwise the provider (Google, for example) replaces it with the address you log in with. From name * The sender name your customers see. -
The card’s foot shows how many changes aren’t saved yet; Discard brings back the saved details. Click Save changes. You see Saved. Send a test to verify your server. The card shows Not verified, and below the fields it says Not yet verified.
-
Click Send test. UNENO first saves what’s in the fields, then sends a test email through your server. If it works, you see Test email sent to [address] — your server is verified. Later, the line below the fields reads Verified · last tested with the time.
Only after a successful test does sending switch to your server: the card shows Active, and your emails go out from your own address. If the test fails, your server’s message appears in red below the fields, the card stays Not verified and default sending stays active — check the details and try again.
Back to default sending
Section titled “Back to default sending”Click Remove server at the right below the fields and confirm. Your emails then go out through UNENO again.
