Create a quote

A new quote starts as a draft: you can edit and save it as often as you like. It only gets a number when you issue it.

  1. Under Quotes, click New quote.

  2. Pick the customer in the Customer card on the right — type a name or customer number into the search box and pick them. If they’re new, add them right here with New customer, without leaving the editor. Change picks another customer.

  3. Add line items with Add line. Type a product name in Product / Service and pick it — the line then takes the product’s name, description, unit, price and tax rate. Or simply type a name of your own.

  4. Fill in the quote details — see below.

  5. Check the opening text and signature — the text above and below the line items. Both are prefilled with your standard texts; the Show on document switch hides either of them.

  6. Click Save draft at the top. Preview shows the PDF beforehand — stamped DRAFT.

You see Quote created. and are back in the list. From now on, clicking the draft opens it again; you then save with Save changes. Once everything’s ready, issue the quote right here with Issue or Issue & send — see Issue and send.

The bar with the buttons stays at the top while you scroll through the form. If you leave the editor with unsaved changes, UNENO asks whether to discard them.

Once you’ve picked a customer, the card shows who you’re dealing with:

DetailMeaning
Name and customer numberIn the field at the top, with whether it’s an organization or an individual. Clicking the customer number opens their overview in a new tab.
EmailWhere the quote goes. If it’s missing, you see No email address on file — the quote can’t be sent.
CreatedSince when the customer exists.
Total spend, Open balance, Total invoicesWhat the customer has paid you so far, what’s still open and how many invoices they have.
Billing addressThe address on the quote. If the customer has several, pick one here.
With shipping?Switch it on if a delivery belongs to the quote — then pick the shipping address. If the customer has none yet, add one right here with Add a shipping address.
FieldWhat to enter
Quote dateAlready filled in: it’s the day you issue the quote.
Valid untilUntil when the quote applies — prefilled with today plus your Quote validity (30 days by default). Leave it empty for no expiry. After this day it expires.
LanguageThe language of the quote and its email. The default is the language of your company’s country.
Contact personWho appears on the quote as the customer’s contact at your company — prefilled with your name.
FieldMeaning
Product / ServiceThe line’s name, with an optional Description below.
Qty / UnitThe quantity (up to four decimals) and its unit — your default unit is preselected.
Unit priceThe price per unit.
Net / GrossBelow the unit price: how you type it — the chosen one is blue. The net price is always what’s saved; gross is only an entry aid.
TaxThe line’s tax rate — your default rate is preselected.
AmountQuantity × unit price — net or gross, as you enter the price.

Net / Gross and Tax are missing if your company doesn’t charge VAT. At the bottom of the card, UNENO calculates the Subtotal, the VAT per rate and the Total. A quote can have up to 200 lines.

Below the signature, Show placeholders lists the placeholders: building blocks such as %company_name% (your company name) or %valid_until% (the validity date), which are only replaced by the real value on the document. The icon next to one copies it. If a placeholder stays empty on the document, its whole line isn’t printed.

You set your standard texts for quotes under Settings → Texts & Emails, and the Quote validity under Settings → Documents settings in the Invoices & quotes card — 14, 30, 60 or 90 days or No expiry. If you switch the Language, UNENO swaps the opening text and signature for the new language’s standard texts — as long as you haven’t changed them yet.
