A customer's overview

Every customer has its own overview. On the left you see what you do with them — their finances, open invoices, addresses and documents —, on the right who they are: their details and their history.

In the customer list, click a customer’s number or name. Archived customers have an overview too. ‹ Customers at the top left takes you back to the list.

At the top: who, and what you create for them

Section titled “At the top: who, and what you create for them”

Next to the name is the status (Active or Archived), below it the customer number to copy.

On the right you create something for this customer — it’s already picked in the editor:

  • Create invoice opens a new invoice.
  • Under ⋮ you find Quote and Recurring invoice.

An archived customer has no such buttons — it can’t be picked any more.

TabWhat it shows
OverviewA note, if you’ve added one, the finances and the open invoices — what needs your attention.
AddressesAll the customer’s billing and shipping addresses — see A customer’s addresses.
DocumentsAll quotes, invoices and recurring invoices for the customer.

The open tab is part of the page’s address — reload or share the link and the same tab opens.

The Finances card shows what you invoiced the customer in a period — gross, as on their invoices:

FigureWhat it shows
InvoicedThe total of the invoices you issued in the period, and below it how many. Cancelled invoices and drafts don’t count.
ReceivedWhat the customer paid in the period, and below it the day of the last payment. A refund counts as a minus.

Next to each figure a line shows its course over the period. The chart below puts Invoiced (blue) and Received (green) side by side — per day for 30 and 90 days, per month for 6 and 12 months. Hover over a bar to see both amounts.

Pick the period at the top right of the card: 30 days, 90 days, 6 months or 12 months. Which period the card opens with is set under Settings → General at Customer finances period.

The card appears from the first issued invoice.

Below are the invoices that aren’t paid yet — the one due first at the top, with number, open amount, date, due date and status (Overdue, Partially paid or Open). At the top right of the card you see the total open and how much of it is overdue — overdue in red.

The Documents tab shows one card per kind of document: Quotes, Invoices and Recurring invoices.

  • Drafts are at the top. They don’t have a date yet; ✎ Edit next to the status opens the draft in the editor so you can finish it.
  • Click the number to open the document.
  • From six entries on you page within the card itself.
  • If the customer isn’t used anywhere yet, you see Not used anywhere yet.

On the right — on a phone at the very top — are the Customer details: type, name and contact person, email, copy to and phone, the default billing address and the default shipping address, the tax details, reminder stop, payment term and document language, and finally status, created and last changed.

  • If the customer has more billing addresses, + N more billing addresses takes you to the Addresses tab.
  • If the shipping address is the billing address, it says Same as the billing address; without a shipping address —.
  • Payment term and document language show Default (…) if the customer has none of their own.
  • The switch at Status archives or restores the customer.

Edit in the customer details changes the customer — as described in Add a customer.

Below that, the History shows what happened to the customer — newest first, with the person’s name and the time. For a change you see every changed field with its old and new value, its addresses included.
