Placeholders in texts and emails

A placeholder is a word between two percent signs, such as %company_name%. UNENO replaces it with the matching value — in the PDF when the document is produced, in the email when it’s sent. That way the same text fits every document.

Under Texts & Emails they’re in the Placeholders (PDF) and Placeholders (Email) cards above the texts they work in — in the editors under Available placeholders. Click the icon next to one to copy it.

%valid_until%the validity datequotes
%invoice_number%, %invoice_date%number and date of the cancelled invoicecancellation invoices

If a placeholder is empty, its whole line is left out. If an invoice has no service period, the default text’s line Billing for the period from %service_period_start% to %service_period_end% isn’t printed at all. So put such details on a line of their own.

  • In the cancellation email, %document_number% is the cancellation invoice’s number and %invoice_number% the original invoice’s. In the quote withdrawal email, %document_number% is the quote’s number.
  • In emails the line stays when a placeholder is empty — only the value is missing.

Each part only fills in its own placeholders. %total% works in the email, but in a PDF’s opening text it then appears literally as “%total%”. The same goes the other way for %delivery_date% or %due_days% in an email. So use the placeholders listed above the card you’re editing.
