Fill in your company details
Your company details describe your business to UNENO: we issue our invoices to you on these details, and your apps take over the name, address and tax details — for example as the sender on the invoices you write in UNENO Invoice. That’s why UNENO asks for them before you activate your first app.
When you fill them in
Section titled “When you fill them in”- Before your first app: if you click Start free trial while your company details are incomplete, the window Complete your company details opens. Fill it in and click Save & continue — the activation carries on right away. Back to dashboard cancels.
- Any time after: in the header under Company.
The country comes first. As long as no country is saved, UNENO asks for nothing else yet: First, where is your company registered? The details we ask for next depend on it. Pick the Country of registration — the Timezone is set with it — and click Continue. The form then shows the fields for that country, with the country and timezone in the line at the top, for example Country: France · Timezone: Europe/Paris · Change; Change takes you back to the first step. Nothing is saved before you save the form.
The page
Section titled “The page”All the details sit in one card, Company details. At the top right you see whether everything is there: Complete — or, for example, Incomplete · 2 details missing.
As soon as you change a field, the bottom of the card shows how many changes are not saved yet — such as 1 unsaved change. Click Save changes; you see Your company details have been saved. Discard brings back the saved values. If you leave the page with unsaved changes, UNENO asks: Keep editing or Discard and leave.
The fields
Section titled “The fields”Fields with a red asterisk (*) are required.
Identity
Section titled “Identity”| Field | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Company name * | Your company’s legal name, as it should appear on invoices — including the legal form (“Example Company Ltd”). As a freelancer or sole trader, enter your name or trading name. |
| Owner first name, Owner last name * | Who runs or owns the business. |
| Billing email * | We send our invoices to you to this address — your accounting, for example. It can differ from your sign-in address. |
| Managing director(s) | For a company (GmbH, Ltd …) its management — part of the mandatory details on your business letters. |
| Field | What you enter |
|---|---|
| VAT number | Your VAT identification number, for example DE123456789. UNENO checks it against the EU’s VIES register when you save. If you don’t have one, leave it empty. |
| Tax number | The tax number from your tax office — important above all if you have no VAT number. |
| Registration number, Registration court | If you are in the commercial register: the number (for example HRB 12345) and the registering court. |
| This business charges VAT | On by default. Turn it off if you are exempt from VAT — for example as a small business under § 19 UStG. Your invoices then show no VAT. |
Address
Section titled “Address”| Field | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Address * | Street with house number — without a number it can’t be saved. |
| Postal code *, City * | Your registered office. |
| Region | State, canton or province, if you want to add it. |
| Country * | The country of your registered office — chosen in the first step. From the first save it is fixed: the field is greyed out and above the fields it says The country is changed by us — contact support. |
| Timezone * | Set automatically with the country (Europe/Berlin for Germany); only change it if you work in another time zone. |
A company in France
Section titled “A company in France”A company registered in France fills in its French legal details instead. They appear in the footer of every document, in the document’s language — on a French invoice, for example, « SAS au capital de 10 000 € » and « RCS Paris 100 000 009 ».
| Field | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Legal form * | Under Identity: for example SAS, SARL or EI. |
| Share capital | Under Identity, for a company with one: for example 10 000 €. |
| SIREN * | In place of the registration number: your company’s 9-digit number, for example 100 000 009. UNENO checks it and shows it in groups of three. |
| RCS (city of the registry) | In place of the registration court: the city of your trade register, for example Paris. Leave it empty as a sole trader without an RCS entry. |
A French company has no Tax number field. Its VAT number must belong to the same company — a French VAT number ends with the SIREN.
If you created your account with Google, the form also shows I confirm I act as a business, not as a consumer. — tick it once.
If the VAT number isn’t accepted
Section titled “If the VAT number isn’t accepted”| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| This does not look like a valid VAT number. | Check the format — two letters for the country, then the number, no spaces. |
| This VAT number is registered in …, but the selected country is … | The number’s country code and the chosen Country don’t match — correct one of them. |
| This VAT number could not be verified. | VIES doesn’t know the number. Check it, or leave the field empty. |
| A company with this VAT number is already registered. | The number already belongs to a UNENO account — write to our support. |
| A SIREN has 9 digits, e.g. 100 000 009 — please check it. | France: the SIREN is 9 digits; spaces are fine. |
| This VAT number belongs to another SIREN — a French VAT number ends with the SIREN. | France: the VAT number and the SIREN are of two different companies — correct one of them. |
| Your SIREN does not match your verified VAT number … — it is …. | France: your VAT number is already verified, so the SIREN is the one to correct — the message names it. |
