Switching from your old program
Carry on where you left off: set the start number to your last invoice number plus one.
- 1Last number in your old tool: 0287
- 2Start number: 288
- 3Your first invoice: 0288
Your own series for invoices, quotes, cancellations and customers. Choose the prefix, the length and where to start — Invoice numbers every document when it is issued, never twice, never with a gap.
Three parts, set per range — the preview shows the next number while you type.
Drafts have no number. It is assigned the moment you issue — so a deleted draft never leaves a gap.
Two invoices issued at the same moment get consecutive numbers — never the same one.
If issuing fails, the number goes back — the next invoice gets it.
Your latest invoice, not yet sent or reminded, goes back to draft and keeps its number when re-issued.
Delete your latest unsent, unpaid, unreminded invoice and the next one reuses its number.
A number that already exists is blocked — with a clear message instead of a second invoice.
Carry on where you left off: set the start number to your last invoice number plus one.
Want the year in your numbers? Put {YYYY} in the prefix and set “Start again” to “Every year” — the new year begins at 0001 by itself.
Short answers to what people ask us most.
Yes. A number is assigned only when an invoice is issued, one after the other — drafts don’t use one, and a failed issue gives it back. Deleting or correcting is only possible for the latest number, so no gap appears.
Yes. Set the start number to your last invoice number plus one — your first invoice in UNENO continues the series.
Put the year in the number with {YYYY} — for example the prefix INV-{YYYY}- — and set “Start again” to “Every year”. On 1 January the count starts again at your start number by itself: INV-2027-0001. With “Never”, the year in the number changes and the count simply carries on. “Every month” works the same with {MM}.
Letters, digits and dashes in the prefix and suffix, each up to 20 characters — plus the placeholders {YYYY}, {YY} and {MM} for the year and month. The counter is padded with leading zeros to the minimum number of digits you choose (1 to 8).
No. A draft is numbered only when you issue it — so you can create, change and delete drafts without ever leaving a gap.
Yes, automatically from the customer number range when the customer is created. It appears on your invoices and cannot be changed afterwards.
