Your invoices, straight into your tax adviser’s DATEV.

Instead of typing your invoices in from PDFs, your tax adviser reads them straight into DATEV: as a booking batch in DATEV’s format, with your customers as debtors. Set it up once — then it’s one export a month.

  • Booking batch + debtors in DATEV’s format (EXTF)
  • Revenue accounts for SKR03 or SKR04 — one per tax rate
  • For businesses based in Germany
The files

Two files — everything your tax adviser imports.

Both in the format DATEV itself describes, read in through DATEV’s import — no retyping, no reformatting.

Booking batch (Buchungsstapel)

Bookings
EXTF_Buchungsstapel.csv

Every invoice and cancellation you issued in the period — debited to the customer’s debtor account, credited to the tax rate’s revenue account.

  • One booking per tax rate — the amounts exactly as on the invoice
  • Document number = invoice number, with due date — and the VAT ID for intra-EU supplies and reverse charge
  • Cancellations as a reversal (Generalumkehr), payments on request

Debtors (Debitoren)

Master data
EXTF_Debitoren.csv

The customers of these bookings as debtors — so your tax adviser sees the open items per customer.

  • Each customer with their own debtor account — given on the first export, then fixed
  • Name, billing address, VAT ID, email, phone and customer number
  • Or one collective debtor for all invoices — then without this file
Setup

Set it up once — then export every month.

Four settings under Settings → DATEV. The page tells you what’s still missing — and so does the export, before it starts.

  1. 01

    Switch it on

The DATEV export is off until you switch it on — while it’s off, nothing in UNENO reminds you of DATEV.

  2. 02

    Consultant & client number

Both numbers come from your tax adviser. They head every DATEV file — without them DATEV won’t take the import.

  3. 03

    Chart & revenue accounts

SKR03 or SKR04: every tax rate gets the chart’s standard revenue account. Enter your own where your tax adviser wants a different one.

  4. 04

    Debtors — and done

One debtor per customer, or one collective debtor. Once the page says “Ready”, DATEV is a format in your data export.

Bookings

Booked the way DATEV expects.

Built to DATEV’s own format description — and every field tested against DATEV’s checking rules.

Booking
The gross amount per tax rate — debit the customer’s debtor, credit the revenue account. Rounded exactly like the invoice.
Document date
The invoice date.
Document no.
The invoice number (Belegfeld 1). Characters DATEV doesn’t take become “-”, always the same way — so DATEV matches each payment to its open item.
Booking text
“Rechnung” or “Storno” with the invoice number and the customer — always in German, the file is for a German tax adviser.
Due date
The invoice’s due date.
EU VAT ID
The customer’s VAT ID on intra-community supplies and reverse charge.
Cancellation
A reversal (Generalumkehr) — the invoice’s booking is undone, never booked twice.
Payments
Off by default: most tax advisers book them from your bank statement. Switched on: bank account to debtor, against the invoice number.
Locking
None — the bookings arrive open; your tax adviser reviews and locks them.
Business year
One per export. If the period runs past its start, the export names the split — e.g. “up to 31 Dec 2026 and from 1 Jan 2027”.
Drafts
Never — only issued invoices and cancellations.
Good to know

Worth knowing before you start.

  • For businesses in Germany

The DATEV settings appear when your company is based in Germany — the same rule as for e-invoicing.

  • Available in the trial too

So your tax adviser can test a first import before you decide.

  • Euros only

If the period holds invoices in another currency, the export doesn’t start — and names those invoices.

  • Agree it with your tax adviser

The revenue accounts are DATEV’s standard accounts. Whether they fit your sales is your tax adviser’s call — UNENO doesn’t decide tax questions.

  • Each period once

An export holds every booking of its period — importing the same period twice would book it twice.

  • Per role

Setting it up needs the right to edit settings; exporting, the right to view invoices and create exports.

FAQ

Questions about the DATEV export

Short answers to what people ask us most.

What does my tax adviser need to do?

Read in the two files from the ZIP through DATEV’s import — the debtors first, then the booking batch. Before your first export, agree the consultant and client number, the chart of accounts and the revenue accounts with them.

Will my payments be booked twice?

No — as long as “Book payments too” is off, which is the default. Most tax advisers book payments from your bank statement. If yours wants them from UNENO, switch the option on: each payment is then booked against its invoice number, so DATEV clears the open item.

What happens to cancelled invoices?

The invoice is in the export of its period, the cancellation invoice in the export of its own period — as a reversal (Generalumkehr) that undoes the invoice’s booking. Together they come to zero.

SKR03 or SKR04 — which do I choose?

The one your tax adviser keeps your books in — ask them. UNENO then fills in that chart’s standard revenue account for each tax rate; where your tax adviser wants a different one, you enter it per tax rate.

Can I export a period again?

Yes, but every export holds all bookings of its period — if your tax adviser imports both files, everything is booked twice. Export, say, last month every month, and talk to your tax adviser before you send a period again.

Do the invoice PDFs go to DATEV too?

Not yet — the DATEV export holds the bookings and the debtors, not the documents themselves. For the PDFs, export your invoices as a PDF archive in the data export.
