An e-invoice carries the invoice as structured data your customer’s software reads — not just a picture of it. UNENO Invoice issues it in the format your country asks for, to the European standard EN 16931, and checks it before it goes out.
The invoice as data — seller, buyer, lines, VAT — that accounting software reads without anyone typing it. A plain PDF is not an e-invoice.
EN 16931 sets what an e-invoice contains. Every country builds on it — with its own formats, channels and dates.
A PDF with the data embedded (ZUGFeRD, Factur-X), readable by people and software — or pure XML (XRechnung), for systems.
Dates, formats and channels differ from country to country — each one has its own page.
From the customer, when the invoice is issued — you never choose a format, and customers outside the rules keep getting a plain PDF.
Against the format’s rules: anything missing is listed, nothing goes out, no number is used.
The Format column shows every invoice’s format — switching e-invoicing off later changes none of them.
Cancelling an e-invoice? The cancellation is an e-invoice as well — a credit note that references the original.
Two tools that run in your browser — nothing is uploaded, no account needed.
An invoice in a structured format — seller, buyer, lines and VAT as data — that the recipient’s software can read and process without typing. The European standard EN 16931 sets what it contains; each country adds its formats and rules.
A plain PDF is not — it is only a picture of the invoice. ZUGFeRD and Factur-X are PDFs with the invoice data embedded as XML, so they count; XRechnung is pure XML.
It depends on your country and your customer: in Germany ZUGFeRD for business customers and XRechnung for public authorities, in France Factur-X for business customers. Invoice picks it from the customer when the invoice is issued — you never choose.
In Germany and France for now — each with its own page — and more countries are on the way. Customers outside these rules keep getting a plain PDF invoice.
No. E-invoicing is included in every plan of Invoice — no add-on, no surcharge.
Yes — with our free e-invoice checker, in your browser: it validates an XRechnung or ZUGFeRD file against the official rules, and nothing is uploaded.
