Business or private, at home or abroad: enter a customer once and pick them on every quote and invoice. Each customer has its own overview — what you invoiced, what came in and what is still open.
An overview per customer — finances, open invoices, documents, history
Billing and shipping addresses — as many as the customer needs
VAT ID checked with VIES — payment term and language per customer
Three parts: who the customer is, where your invoices go, and how documents for them start. Business fields only appear for organizations.

Stop reminders
New quotes and invoices for the customer start with their payment term and language — you can still change both on every document. The note is internal only.
Addresses
Every address the customer needs.
A head office, a branch that gets the invoices, a warehouse you deliver to: each address is for billing, for shipping or for both — and each kind has its default.

VAT ID check
Checked with the EU’s VIES register.
Reverse charge depends on a valid VAT ID. Invoice checks it with VIES when you save a customer — and keeps the result as proof.

E-invoicing
The customer decides the format.
With e-invoicing switched on, Invoice knows from the customer’s details which file each invoice becomes — by your company’s country, decided when the invoice is issued and kept for good. You never choose it by hand.

Do I have to create customers before writing an invoice?
No. Create a new customer right from the invoice, quote or recurring-invoice editor — they are selected straight away and saved in your customer list. From a customer’s overview, “Create invoice” opens the editor with the customer already picked.
What happens to my invoices when I change a customer’s details?
Issued invoices keep the details they were issued with — name, addresses, VAT ID. Your changes apply to drafts and to every document you issue from now on.
Can I delete a customer who has invoices?
No — you can only delete a customer that isn’t used anywhere, one you added by mistake, for example. A customer with quotes, invoices or recurring invoices — drafts included — stays; archive it instead: it can’t be picked any more, keeps its overview and history, and one switch brings it back.
Do customers get a customer number?
Yes, automatically from your customer number range — with your own prefix and length if you like. The number appears on your invoices and cannot be changed afterwards.
Can a customer have several addresses?
Yes — as many billing and shipping addresses as it needs: a head office, a branch that gets the invoices, a warehouse you deliver to. One address can be both. Each kind has a default that new documents use; in the editor you can pick another.
Can a customer have their own payment term and language?
Yes. Give a customer its own payment term — 30 days instead of your usual 14, for example — and a document language: new quotes and invoices for them start with both. You can still change them on every document.
Is the VAT ID checked?
Yes — with the EU’s VIES register, automatically when you save a new or changed VAT ID, and any time with “Check now”. The customer list shows whether it is valid; with your own EU VAT ID set, the check also keeps the VIES consultation number as proof. If VIES can’t be reached, nothing is blocked — the customer shows “VIES not reachable”.
What if I create the same customer twice?
The form warns you: if the VAT ID or the name matches an existing customer, it shows “Looks like an existing customer” with that customer’s name, number and what matches. It is a warning, not a block — two customers may legitimately share a name.
Can I export my customers?
Yes — under Data export, as CSV or Excel: customer number, name, type, contact person, email and copy address, phone, VAT ID, registration number, Leitweg-ID, billing address and the date created.
Do other UNENO apps use the same customers?
Yes — customers belong to your UNENO workspace, not to a single app. Every app that follows works with the same customer list, so nothing is entered twice.
