UNENO Invoice now speaks French

Invoice is now available in French — the app, your account and your documents — with invoices that follow French law, the French VAT rates, payment reminders under the French Commercial Code and Factur-X.

In short

  • The app and your account in French: screens, emails and documents.
  • Invoices and quotes with every mention French law requires.
  • The French VAT rates and exemption notes, ready to use.
  • Payment reminders that follow the French Commercial Code.
  • Factur-X for your business customers.

The app in French

Choose French as your language: Invoice’s screens, your UNENO account, the sign-in and the emails you receive switch to French. Your documents have a language of their own — for a company based in France, French by default.

Invoices that follow French law

For a company based in France, Invoice prints the mandatory mentions:

  • the SIREN of the seller and of a business buyer, the legal form, the share capital and the RCS city,
  • the category of the transaction — supply of goods, services, or both — and the delivery address,
  • the option for VAT on debits — VAT due when you invoice — if you chose it,
  • the payment terms: early-payment discount, late-payment penalties and the €40 flat fee for recovery costs.

The payment mentions are texts you can adapt, under “Texts & Emails”. An issued invoice is cancelled with an avoir (credit note), which repeats the original invoice’s mentions.

French VAT

The French rates are prepared — 20%, 10%, 5.5% and 2.1% — as are the VAT franchise (art. 293 B CGI), reverse charge, intra-community supply and export, each with its note. You decide the tax treatment: UNENO never changes the rate you chose.

Payment reminders

Up to five reminder levels, sent by hand or automatically: a friendly reminder first, firmer ones after, with late-payment penalties from the due date and the €40 flat fee if you want them — as the French Commercial Code sets out.

Factur-X

For your French business customers, Invoice can issue your invoices as Factur-X: a PDF that carries the invoice data, following the European standard EN 16931. We check every version of Invoice against the standard’s validation rules. E-invoicing is switched on in the settings.

And the certified platform?

Under the reform, an e-invoice travels through a certified platform (PA). Connecting Invoice to a certified platform is in preparation — we will announce it here, in the magazine. The rules and the dates: E-invoicing in France.

For German companies too

French is also a document language: a company based in Germany can send its French customers invoices in French. The words follow the document’s language; the law stays the company’s own.
